ilts-reincarnation

After hearing the news that Arcade Infinity was saved from being closed down on January 15th, I thought I'd go with an oldschool IIDX selection, one of my faves from back in the day: Reincarnation by my favorite artist, dj TAKA!

Unfortunately, I don't know if this song is still on the roster as of IIDX18: ResortAnthem, so I can't tell you to go play it at AI whenever they get the new IIDX...(I suppose you could go to milp***s... bastards. :P)

Great news for those of you who were as saddened as I was to hear the news that the SoCal arcade, Arcade Infinity was closing its doors after about a decade of being opened. Word just came out that AI has officially been saved! The owners of Diamond Plaza have graciously stepped in and now AI can remain open!

But for those of you planning on attending the get-together, the best part is that's still happening! However I'd heard DJTyrant may not be going, but stay tuned I'll keep you guys updated! (If he can't make it I'll see if I can't come up with something to go up on the 15th, keep watching the site for further developments!)

You can read the full details of the good news (there's a caveat, but if all goes well AI should be around for at least a little bit longer) here on the facebook page for the '10 years strong' meetup!

I Love That Song! - Frustrating yet awesome! PDF Print E-mail

ilovemeat

That grin is either really sarcastic or he's truly happy about something...

Today's track is The Battle of Lil' Slugger from Super Meat Boy!

Please note due to copyright issues I can not make this song available for you to download directly

Super Meat Boy is probably one of the most frustrating yet most engaging, entertaning and hilarious game of last year. It is hard as hell but pretty fun and somewhat rewarding to play, and it also has some of the greatest music I have heard.  One of my favorite tracks is the music for the first boss in the game, Lil' Slugger.  It is a pretty exciting song, very suspenseful, considering the tons of stuff you have to evade and the jumps you have to make to not get killed.  Pretty much the whole consists of Metal-ish songs, which also try out your patience along with the game, but even so you'll stop in a level to just hear the awesome soundtrack it has.

The soundtrack is available to download on dbSoundworks site and it's pretty cheap too if you really want to get it.

If you have suggestions or recommendations for future "I love that song" segments or just wanna comment about the song please click the "Add new comment" link or contact us via Twitter: @Darktetsuya or me, @act_deft!

Until next time, keep on sluggin'!

ILTS-legend

(Legally I can't tell you where to get this, sorry)

I was trying to decide what my first ILTS of 2011 was gonna be, then I remembered this old favorite from OLR's heyday. Back when the hosts had their own station on Live365, occaisonally they'd hijack their own stream to do a 'fuck-off' show and just play whatever they felt like. This was one of the selections that got playtime randomly during these 'fuck-off' shows.

Anyway, while personally I'm not the biggest rap music fan on the planet, I'll happily make special exceptions for any that are well done and/or set to videogame music, as this one was. Also like most rap songs, this one contains explicit lyrics! So just a forewarning before you hit play... (And I realize the show itself gets explicit, but I wanted to use that warning sticker on this entry anyway.)
