It's been talked about since the early days of the show. Even moreso in recent months with the creation of the OLRchive and the Wiki.
Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to present:
Orange Lounge Radio: BEST HITS Volume 1.
This was a collaborative effort between myself and fellow fangirl Misty, who was kind enough to provide narration for this trip down memory lane. We're hopping in the TARDIS and travelling back to the year 2002, where we revisit our early days when we talked about Konami's BEMANI line of music games at home and the arcade.
That's not to say OLR was any less of a trainwreck back then than it is now.... far from it.
But you don't have to take my word for it, download the first volume HERE!! (or my mediafire mirror HERE!!)
It might be Pi day, but Jamie is talkin' about Atari after attending a local celebration including the common Atari games... and the obscure. Loki and Rob are still all about Final Fantasy XIII, but there are plenty of other games to talk about thanks to Game Developers Conference! Sony details the Playstation Move, but is it something we should all be running to get? What does Microsoft have ready for E3 to counter? Some interesting theories bounce around in studio. In Part B tonight, DJ Hero downloads disappoint our hosts, but Rock Band downloads have at least one host ready to rock... erm... pop out! Why oh why do they keep teasing us about a Kid Icarus game? Also, it sounds like all the achievement junkies in the world might have to upgrade to a new cell phone plan... All this and MORE including your chatroom antics, phone calls, twitter topics, e-mails and MORE on the show where EVERY gamer has a voice -- Orange Lounge Radio!
(Due to legal reasons I can't make this song available for download.)
It's good to be back.... And I brought a pick which I think was particularly apporpriate for this week.
'But DT', I can hear you say... 'Didn't you do this one earlier?' well yes and no... I did the original Schlagwerk that was in beatmania IIDX 3rd Style, but this was a specially created remix done by our very own LOKI!
And besides, in honor of Sunday's 'fuck show', I couldn'tve thought of a more fitting song..
Today's track is Still Alive from Portal (composed by Jonathan Coulton)
Please note due to copyright issues I can not make this song available for you to download directly.
This is no lie, "I love that song!" makes its return to OLR after a long hiatus and were back with a real treat!
Another really awesome thing that's coming back this year is the sequel of the highly successful and acclaimed game of 2007, Portal, and what better way to celebrate that by listening to its so lovely and catchy (and kinda crazy) theme song "Still Alive". It's sang by the game's antagonist, GLaDOS, the crazy A.I. that is trying to kill you throughout all the game. The song while the tune is pretty calmed, the lyrics are truly funny, and they should be since the song was composed by the famous and nerdy songwriter Jonathan Coulton, who's also making a song for the sequel, so what's not to like?
I hope you enjoyed this song and if you have any comments or suggestions, please do so or contact us via Twitter: @olr, @Deekman, @Darktetsuya or me, @act_deft!
