Playing through Braid again I remember just how much I love the music so peaceful but at the same time kind of earie.
Today's track is "Maenam" from Braid
Please note due to copyright issues I can not make this song available for you to download directly.
This sound track was hand picked by Braids creator and provides one of the loveliest sound tracks ever to be in a game. I have actually used some of the tracks from this game to get my daughter to sleep.
Today's pick is Smooth Criminal from Michael Jackon's Moonwalker!
Please note due to copyright issues I can not make this song available for you to download directly
What can I say about Moonwalker? It's probably one of the greatest Sega games of all time with probably the most iconic person in Pop history. A combination that really goes well together, especially music-wise. The 16-bit transitions of MJ's song is pretty well done and are as great as the original versions. Probably my most favorite song is Smooth Criminal and seeing Michael kick the bad guys' ass with that song is just a great experience in my younger years, especially since the video for it is all freaking badass!
Sadly Michael Jackson has passed away, but his legacy will continue to reign. May you rest in peace Michael, keep on Beatin' it!
If you want to post your opinion about today's track or you've got a song suggestion you would like to see featured from a game let us know in the comments or hit me over at Twitter (@act_deft) and we'll see what we can do about featuring it in an up coming article!
With the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs over and the hockey season coming to a close, I thought it would be great to take a look back at the classic sports game "Blades of Steel". Hit the jump for a full in depth look back at the NES classic and its eventual sequels.
Due to legal reasons I can't make this song available for download directly.
It's going up a little early, but OLR did start seven years ago on this day, and I couldn't think of a more fitting selection than one of my favorites from the PPP soundtrack! (I might do one of my other faves in a future installment, so stay tuned!)
If you're curious to see it in action, click here for the demonstration video that appeared in the PS2 Japanese import version! (No you're not seeing things, the reversed text is normal so that way when you're doing the motions, it'll wind up being correct!)
And with that I'm officially off until sometime in august, so expect the Wednesday editions to resume then!
