Blizzcon '09 dated PDF Print E-mail

A recent post to press release site Business Wire announces the 2009 dates for Blizzcon as August 21st and 22nd. The event will continue to be held at the Anaheim Convention Center.

There has been much speculation about whether or not there would be a Blizzcon this year, as Blizzard has been known to not always hold the event every year. However, it was previously revealed that Blizzard did not have plans to show anything at this years E3 event, which is scheduled for about two months prior to Blizzcon '09. It appears Blizzard may be taking their announcements and latest builds of Starcraft II and Diablo III directly to the fans.

The choice to keep the convention at the Anaheim Convention Center is an interesting one, considering the ticketing issues that Blizzard had last year when the ticket supply was hardly able to meet the demand. Has Blizzard leased more space to accommodate the crowds? Will they lottery off ALL the tickets this year? We shall find out in the upcoming weeks...

Update: A Press Release on Blizzard's site confirms an expansion from three convention halls to four. This is no doubt to help meet some of last year's demand, but could it also mean there is that much more to show?
