Okay so rewind.... back before the original Orange Lounge Revolution came out, I was randomly picking songs that I was either into (like the Dancemania licensed stuff) or songs that were in-jokes like this song. Inspired by the 'ketchup song promo' featured above, I included it in the original way back in 2007.
I hope you enjoyed my look back at some of the songs featured in this epic fan-project. More than likely this'll be the last update from me for 2010, though I may do one more song/article before the year's out.... stay tuned to the site to see what happens!
PSP2, Final Fantasy XIV Changes, Childs Play, Playstation Reward Quests, uDraw, Kinect Drivers, R18+ rating, VGA Reveals and MORE on the show where EVERY gamer has a voice- Orange Lounge Radio!
After all the Final Fantasy XIV pointing and laughing done on our show, something somewhat unthinkable happens to the game. Do we think it was the right move for the series? Or is this game just unsaveable at this point? Also we address YET MORE PSP 2 Rumors, this time involving functionality with the PS3. Efforts to raise money for the great Child's Play chairty have been great so far, but we can do better, gamers! Let's get CNN to report on THAT.
In Part B tonight we talk about yet another crazy lawsuit involving a game that's about five years old at this point. Did you know that at this point Playstation Home is TWO years old? Is that something to really celebrate? All this and more including NINTENDO PORN... oh... and I guess we can mention the Video Game Awards... briefly...
Twitter Topics, E-mails, Phone Calls and MORE round out another episode of Orange Lounge Radio!
Back when we first started on Live365, we featured both songs from Konami's rhythm games as well as other selections from Toshiba EMI's 'Dancemania' series (as many of those songs also found their way into DDR)
Had Konami included this song in DDR, it would most likely have been my favorite license ever. But alas, that slot went to JOGA's latest cookie-cutter sound-alike with the same melody as every other song....
But instead of going off on a rant about that i'll tell you more about this song. Appearing on the first 'FantasiA' compilation amidst other trancy tracks like 'So Deep' by Silvertear and 'Ghosts' by Vincent De Moor, this one had to have been my favorite. featuring a great trance beat as well as some stellar violin work by the asian virtuoso, I knew when I was selecting tracks that this song had to be on the tracklist for 2nd MIX.
But, if you're looking for a song you might have heard of, stick around for friday's pick, and just be glad you don't also have to remember how to do the dance for this particular selection...
(Seriously if you want this song it's in Orange Lounge Revolution 2nd MIX, go download it!)
As promised with last week's pick, I'm celebrating the 1-year anniversary of Orange Lounge Revolution 2nd MIX's long-anticipated release by taking a look at a few of my favorite songs from the game!
I don't really have any backstory to this, aside from DDR mainstay Thomas Howard (known for such songs as Silent Hill and La Senorita in DDR, as well as several songs for Konami's Guitar Freaks/drummania games.) teaming up with DJ Potatoe to sing this rather..... interesting track.
Everyone was asking me what the connection was to DJ Potatoe in regards to the 8-bit NES-style 'demake' which was recently pulled offline from the official site by the legal watchdogs at Universal. I'd been able to locate the game online via a google search, and as I was reading the manual, I noticed that name in the credits for the 8-bit mashups featured in the game.
So after that I was looking up this song on youtube, where I found a live performance of it. And I discovered in one of the comments someone had linked to the site which turned out to be the same as the creator of the DJ Hero demake.... so I concluded that indeed, this was the guy responsible for that game.
But be sure and tune in on Wednesday, as we go from a song that was banned on Orange Lounge Radio, to a licensed song that was easily my favorite track that I ever discovered in the almost ten years of doing the show.
