Written by Deekman & OLR Fans
Monday, 06 April 2009 07:35

Sorry this one's late coming up but here are your gaming weeks from the OLR community:

kikineko: I tried to play Animal Crossing Wii but Kylie broke the disc :( Other then that Banjo Kazooie and Peggle on 360! Oh and Tengoku Gold!

Deekman: Only thing I played last week was Fallout 3

BlueSwim: Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. Solid game, but the touch control hinders the game's combat. No hype for Spirit Tracks yet.

DarkTetsuya: obligatory NFS:UG2, also Eat Lead (frustrating!) and The Wheelman demo (kinda fun, the GTA meets Burnout comparison is right on!)

BlackLab: zomg Puppy iz contributing. Lots of Left4Dead, some RB2 (DONT STOP. BELIEEEEEVIN.) And various games on Whirled.com (gotta support em)

MistyOLR: still more pegglecrack and rockband ^^;

Ray_Ayanami: Pop'n 16, IIDX 16, Metal Slug 7, DTET, Tetris TGM and TGM clones, Star Soldier R, Bangai-O Spirits.

Zakupilot256: Burn Zombie Burn on PSN, RE5 PS3 and Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 ulitmate edition and PAIN on PSN. its been a very sony week.

Kroze: Burnout Paradise, evil character on Fallout 3, Garry's Mod, Puzzle Quest Galactrix, school work, and Wanted: Weapons of Fate (SUCKS)

BobbyBlackwolf: My gaming week consisted of BOB'S GAME I think you should talk about it...

ssj100matt: My gaming week: Fallout 3: The Pitt (= crack), The Dishwasher Samurai, Bit-Trip-Beat, Guitar Hero Metallica and Gears2 at a party

RyanBelknap: I have been playing Fallout 3 & Slingo Quest for the PC, also Dragon Warrior IV for the DS

act_deft: Basically Pokemon Platinum all week long. Gotta Catch 'Em All I guess

leoxen: Gaming Week: Kichiku Megane R (It's typing of the Dead w/o zombies but you get to undress bishounen for typing really fast),SF4, & RE5~

djratchet: still been playing resistance retribution, but I also went back and played Amplitude today :)

Each week we'll ask you what your gaming week is on twitter. Send a reply to @olr and let us know how your week went!

Kick! Punch! Block! Chop!

Today's track is Chop Chop Master Onion's Rap from Parappa the Rapper

Please note due to copyright issues I can not make this song available for you to download directly.

What can I say about PaRappa the Rapper, basically that it was the pioneer of Rhythm actions games, combining simple button pressing gameplay in rhythm with the music it had. It inspired games like the BEMANI Series (DDR, Beatmania, etc.), Frequency and Amplitude, Pump it up, and such. Not too many people played PaRappa in its days, but it became a classic nonetheless. Good thing more people can play it since it has a remake version on the PSP.  One of the most memorable tracks in the game is Master Onion's rap, with its Oriental theme and lyrical rapping makes it a something like a "Kung-Fu Fighting" homage.

If you want to post your opinion about today's track or you've got a song suggestion you would like to see featured from a game let us know in the comments and we'll see what we can do about featuring it in an up coming article!

Paula Terry, don't you love her singing? (OK, I was wrong, I have no idea who does the vocals.)

Just relax, you've made it.

Today's track is "Little Bonus Room" from Skullmonkeys

Please note due to copyright issues I can not make this song available for you to download directly.

Side scrolling platformers are a dime a dozen but none do it with more style (and clay) than Skullmonkeys. Terry Scott Taylor managed to write some of the greatest and most memorable music ever found in a video game series and as such even 10 years being shipped they are sill held in high regard for their music, graphics, humour and style.

If you want to post your opinion about today's track or you've got a song suggestion you would like to see featured from a game let us know in the comments and we'll see what we can do about featuring it in an up coming article!
