Today's pick is a special request by @gimmeTOKYO via Twitter
Rival's Battle Theme from Pokémon Gold and Silver

Please note due to copyright issues I can not make this song available for you to download directly.

The Pokémon series has always had pretty damn awesome music, the Rival Battle Theme from Gold and Silver are no exception to that. Your rival on Pokémon has always given troubles since he's a douche and wants to be better than you in every possible way, always competing always looking out to be the best there is. So his battle theme has epic, every battle decides who is the best of the best, no but's about it.

If  like @gimmeTOKYO, you have any song suggestions or want to comment on the song, post it in the comments or send me a request via Twitter at @act_deft!

I Love That Song - Absolute PDF Print E-mail

ilts-absolute

Due to legal reasons I can't make this song available for download directly.

When I say the name dj TAKA, what songs come to mind? Rainbow Flyer? Sure, if you're into the newer styles. (For the record I may actually do that song one week, so watch for it!) But perhaps the most popular selection of his has got to be Absolute from both beatmania IIDX 4th Style, and Dance Dance Revolution 5th MIX.

The song itself is very memorable... TAKA's trademark style shines through in this track, with an unforgettable melody that anyone can enjoy, whether you're stomping on arrows or hitting the keys/turntable.

There have been quite a few different remixes, such as the 'Rock Guitar' remix done by good-cool for Pop'n Music 9, and a rather disappointing (imo) remix by Thuggie D that appeared in the XBOX Ultramix games, as well as DDR Extreme 2 on PS2. (EDIT: Shout-out to act-deft, there was also a great remix on dj TAKA's 'Milestone' album, which features some of his best work, as well as remixes of his songs by other infamous BEMANI artists.)

Personally I'm hoping this song gets selected to appear in Dance Dance Revolution: Volume 1 slated to appear on PS2/Wii/PS3/360 later this year!

Random Trivia: Absolute was the very first winner of Orange Lounge Radio's 'Listless' segment, way the f*** back on Episode 5, in 'best beatmania IIDX song ever'... as chosen by yours truly. :3
